ADIA is governed by an Executive Committee consisting of representatives - both radiologists and business managers - from our membership.

President

Dr Julian Adler - MBBS (Hons), FRANZCR

Dr Julian Adler is the Chief Executive Officer of Castlereagh Imaging and Illawarra Radiology Group, both part of Sonic Healthcare. He trained in radiology in Perth and Sydney and undertook fellowship training in neuroradiology in Vancouver.

He has broad experience across a range of private radiology settings and was a co-founder of Everlight teleradiology.  Julian joined Sonic in 2008 and was appointed to his current position in 2011.

 

Vice President

Dr Ron Shnier - MBBS, FRANZCR

Dr Ron Shnier is the Chief Medical Officer at I-MED Radiology Network. He completed his radiology training at RPAH Sydney before becoming an MSK Fellow at UCLA in 1991. He joined Sydney Imaging Group in 1993 and was chairman of the group which was taken over by HCOA in 1998. He was both National Director of Radiology at Mayne/Symbiont as well as General Manager for a year.  

Dr Shnier then joined Southern Radiology in 2009 which joined Capital Radiology in 2015 before joining I-MED in 2017 where he is currently Chief Medical Officer. He was as one of the founding members of ADIA and has previously acted as President. He currently sits on the boards of both private and publically listed companies.

 

Vice President

Mr Matthew Swain - DipMRT(DIAG), MBA, BA, CPA

Matthew is the General Manager of South East Radiology, a subsidiary of Q-Scan Radiology Group. He started in Radiography in 1993 working on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Continuing his career in radiography, Matthew moved to the NSW South Coast in 1997, experiencing the challenges of rural medical imaging practice. 

Matthew has experience across a range of modalities including X-Ray, CT and MRI. In 2001 Matthew started managing the SER business and his interest in promoting rural medical imaging grew. He furthered his education from that period completing an MBA and bachelor of accounting before becoming a member of CPA Australia.

 

Treasurer

Dr Sue Ulreich - MBBS, FRANZCR, GAICD

Dr Sue Ulreich commenced her medical training in Adelaide 1986 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 1992. She then travelled to the USA to complete a one year Ultrasound and MRI Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego.

In 1994, Sue and her family moved to Perth where she commenced with SKG Radiology as a Consultant Radiologist and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in July 2006. In November 2001, SKG Radiology joined Sonic Healthcare Limited - a major medical diagnostics company, listed as a Top 100 company on the Australian Stock Exchange. Sue has a special interest in Women’s Imaging and has supervised an accredited Fellowship Programme in this field at SKG Radiology.

Mr Peter Bonovas - BAppSc - MRT, GradDip - Medical Sonography

Peter is the Operations Manager of Synergy Radiology. He started as a Radiographer in 1995, working for Sydney Imaging Group (SIG). He began Ultrasound training in 2000 and continued with Mayne Health and Symbion in both clinical and management roles at Nepean Private Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital until 2007.

Peter joined Synergy Radiology from its inception in 2007 and has maintained a clinical role as a Sonographer as well as the Operations Manager. He has experience across various modalities including X-ray, CT and all areas of Ultrasound.

Dr Arunima Gupta - MBBS, DNB(RADIODIAGNOSIS), FRANZCR

Dr Arunima Gupta is the Managing Director of Wollongong Diagnostics. She co-founded the first clinic in Wollongong in 2011 which has now evolved to a reputable, multi-practice company under her direction, hard work and dedication. Arunima has been practicing radiology since 2001 and has worked in India, the Middle East and Australia with special interest in head and neck radiology and cardiac imaging.

Along with running a business, being a full-time consulting radiologist and mother, Arunima is also passionate about giving back to the community through charitable events and education and loves trekking, tennis, singing and her weekend stint as radio jockey in local community radio.

Ms Anne Lockwood - CA

Anne Lockwood joined Integral Diagnostics in 2016 and was appointed as Chief Financial Officer in September 2017. Anne is a Chartered Accountant by training and a former Partner of a major accounting firm. She has extensive experience across audit (including as National Head of Audit), technical accounting and mergers and acquisitions within the listed company environment.

Anne has a Degree in Commerce with majors in Accounting and Law and she is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Ms Geraldine Ormonde - BAppSc GradDip (Med Tech)

Geraldine is the General Manager Sales and Marketing at Perth Radiological Clinic. She is a Laboratory Scientist by training and has worked in many roles in Pathology including research, laboratory management, sales and marketing, finance and revenue assurance.

Her radiology journey started in 2012 when she joined Perth Radiological Clinic. Having worked in the Australian health industry for many years she has significant experience in the application and interpretation of the Medicare system.

Dr Shrey Viranna - MBChB

Dr Shrey Viranna commenced in March 2020 as Chief Executive Officer of I-MED Radiology Network. Prior to joining I-MED Radiology Network, Dr Viranna was Group CEO of Life Healthcare Group, a South African headquartered healthcare company with a presence in 14 countries across South Africa, Europe and India.

Dr Viranna trained and practised as a medical doctor in South Africa, and before joining Life Healthcare Group, he ran the healthcare, behavioural economics-based wellness and credit card businesses for Discovery, an independent South African financial services business. Prior to this, he was a partner at McKinsey & Co where he established and led the healthcare practice in Africa.
